This Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is crafted from a mash bill of 40% malted barley, 55% unmalted barley, 3.75% oats and 1.25% rye. Fully matured in an Amontillado hogshead from Montilla in Spain, the Oak King embodies the warmth of Summer.
Nose
Soft butter and sweet cream soda open the aroma, backed by fresh hay, pumpkin and chamomile. Lightly floral, creamy, and inviting.
Palate
Sweet and expressive with caramelised butter, soft fudge, vanilla, and hints of lemon icing sugar. A whisper of smoke emerges beneath the sweetness, accompanied by subtle notes of charred wood that lend structure and a light toasted depth.
Finish
Warm and lightly spicy with a pleasant tingle. Notes of toffee apples appear, followed by gentle touches of chocolate.
