1848 Apple Brandy – World’s Best Apple Brandy.
Any journey to our artisan distillery, located by the River Boyne, alongside the kingfishers and the herons, instills in the soul a sense of mysticism. Legend has it that the Irish goddess Boann created this river.
According to legend, Boann was the wife of the leader of the Tuatha dé Danaan, a supernatural race in Irish mythology. One day Boann went walking and though forbidden to do so by her husband, she approached an ancient well where she challenged its power by walking around it anticlockwise. This caused the waters to surge up violently and rush down to the sea, thus creating the River Boyne which has flowed through this valley ever since, and from where we take the inspiration for our name.
Located in the magnificent Boyne Valley, Boann Distillery is intrinsically linked to this beautiful landscape. We are the custodians of this special place, carrying on the traditions of those who have gone before, and caring and preserving it for future generations. So, at all stages of our distilling process, from grain to glass, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.
