Boann Legacy Cask Strength & Boann Legacy Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

Introducing Boann Legacy, a new addition to our core Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey range.

Boann Legacy Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is crafted from a complex mash bill of malted and unmalted barley, with oats and rye, and is a tribute to the rich heritage and history of Irish whiskey.

Boann Legacy marries seven different cask types; Bourbon, Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Palo Cortado, Amontillado, Moscatel, and French oak, sourced from some of the world’s finest wine and cooperage regions and is a tribute to the generations of craftspeople whose skill, innovation and dedication have shaped Irish whiskey over the last 700 years. From farmers and maltsters to coopers, distillers and winemakers, every bottle celebrates the collective expertise that has elevated Irish whiskey into one of the world’s most respected spirits categories.

This whiskey also tells a more personal story. Boann Legacy honours the Cooney family’s contribution to the Irish drinks industry over the past five decades. Having helped shape and grow Irish beverage brands for more than 50 years, the family is now leading a new generation of innovation through Boann Distillery.

“Boann Legacy Single Pot Still Whiskey represents everything we believe Irish whiskey can be – rooted in Ireland’s rich distilling traditions while embracing the creativity and ambition that will define Irish whiskey in the 21st century.

Boann Legacy stands as both a celebration of what has come before and a statement of intent for the future” – Pat Cooney.

A limited cask-strength version of Boann Legacy has also been released to celebrate the Summer Solstice 2026.

Boann Legacy Cask Strength Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey has an ABV of 59.2%, is limited to just 777 individually numbered bottles worldwide and is available now from Boann Distillery and the Boann Distillery webstore.

The striking packaging also reinforces this story of transformation through time. Drawing inspiration from the copper pot stills at the heart of Boann distillery, the design traces the natural evolution of copper as it ages – from its bright burnished beginnings to the distinctive Verdigris patina that develops over decades.
